How Artec 3D is supporting Ukraine

EU leaders tour Artec 3D’s state-of-the-art production facility in Luxembourg

EU Commission visit

World-renowned 3D scanning specialist Artec 3D has invited leaders from the EU Commission and European Investment Fund (EIF) to visit its cutting-edge production facility in Luxembourg.

During their tour, European Commission Director Giorgio Chiarion Casoni, EIF Deputy Director General Merete Clausen, and Anne Calteux, Head of the European Commission’s representation to Luxembourg, were given a full behind-the-scenes tour.

Guided by experts, these esteemed guests were shown how Artec 3D’s industry-leading products come together at a pioneering ISO-certified cleanroom facility. A full introduction to the company, courtesy of CEO Art Yukhin, followed, along with a live demo of its revolutionary all-in-one wireless 3D scanner, Artec Leo – which is said to have wowed the EU officials.

Their visit is just the latest in a series of initiatives between Artec 3D and leading EU institutions. Earlier this year, the company signed a first-of-its-kind deal with the European Investment Bank (EIB), which will see it gain €15 million in R&D funding. Throughout the day, EU representatives got a taste of how this investment will drive innovation in Luxembourg over the coming years.

“Whether it be the EIB, EIF, or European Commission, it’s always a pleasure to host the EU’s leading officials. We’re proud to say our products are made in Luxembourg and we’ve forged close ties with representatives of EU institutions in recent years,” said Art Yukhin. “With the support of our European partners, Artec 3D is now well-positioned to thrive and cement Luxembourg’s place as a hub for technological innovation.”

Opened by then-Luxembourgish Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Artec’s optoelectronics production facility is packed with high-tech machinery, including a fully automated PCB assembly line. As they explored the factory, Casoni, Clausen, and Calteux were offered an opportunity to see how these technologies operate and why they deliver such a competitive advantage, first-hand.

Artec 3D continues to work extensively with representatives both in Luxembourg and across the wider EU. Previously, the firm invited Luxembourg’s Minister of Economy to tour its facilities. In other areas, Artec has also appointed prominent diplomat Gaston Stronck to its advisory board and worked with the Luxembourg Directorate of Defense to deliver 3D scanners to Ukraine.

In the years to come, Artec 3D aims to establish even deeper ties with EU officials and industry partners, with a view to pushing new boundaries in the world of 3D technology.
