How Artec 3D is supporting Ukraine

Artec 3D President and CEO to speak at GTC 2017

| San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, United States (San Jose, United States)

The upcoming GPU Technology Conference (GTC 2017), which is the premier event for GPU developers, will host an array of leading speakers, including Artem Yukhin, President & CEO of Artec 3D, who will speak about running real-time processing for revolutionary 3D scanning. A holder of 19 patents and patent applications in electronics, optics, and algorithm engineering, Artem Yukhin has 17+ years of experience in international executive management, startup development, and product launch.

Real-time processing of data is a great way to streamline the creation of 3D models, which Artec 3D has implemented in its 3D scanning solutions. In March 2017, Artec 3D unveiled its best 3D scanner to date, Artec Leo, taking 3D scanning to a new level. Leo features the state-of-the-art NVIDIA® Jetson™ platform, which allows the scanner to process large volumes of 3D data right onboard. The user needs no laptop or tablet to stream the data to – Leo shows them scans developed in real time on its own touchscreen. This new approach to 3D scanning makes the process as easy as taking a video.

The unveiling of Leo was followed by the release of Artec Studio 12, the most advanced version of Artec’s 3D scanning and data processing software. Some of the most resource-intensive and time-consuming operations have been revamped to become much faster and use less RAM and storage space. One of the breakthroughs in the latest build is the ability to effectively remove the base you’ve scanned your object on – even if the base was not absolutely flat, the software will have no problem detecting and eliminating it in a matter of seconds.

Artec Studio also features the Autopilot mode for automatic creation of 3D models using the data collected with Artec scanners – just answer a few simple questions about the object you’ve just scanned and Artec Studio will build a precise 3D model of it.

At the session Artem Yukhin will be speaking, you’ll be able to find out more about how Artec 3D technology works and how it is employed by leading international engineering and manufacturing companies, VR and CGI studios, medical institutions and other clients.
