Squirrel skull

Some might say that in the grand scheme of things, when gazing down upon our world from the thermosphere, 50+ miles up, this eastern gray squirrel skull is about as important as a single electron circling the nucleus. But that doesn’t make it any less beautiful up close. So, on that lonely winter’s day when it was discovered upon a Virginia trail, it was decided then and there that it would make a superb 3D model. Shortly thereafter, the scanning ensued. The Artec Micro was the star of the stage that day, and there were no disappointments among the audience. In less than 10 minutes, every surface of this osseous little jewel (L:55mm x H:26mm x W:34mm) was captured in exquisite high-resolution color 3D. Processing the scans into a 3D model in Artec Studio took just a tad longer, with the entire project from scan to ready 3D model completed in less than half an hour.
