Artec 3D launches “Made in China” Artec Leo to drive growth in the Chinese market

Luxembourg-based 3D scanning leader Artec 3D is delighted to reveal a “Made in China” version of Artec Leo, its all-in-one, wireless 3D scanner, produced exclusively for the Chinese market.
Set to drive regional growth, this “Made in China” Artec Leo delivers the same groundbreaking performance as the original, while offering closer alignment with Chinese standards. Producing the device domestically also brings logistical advantages, simplifying local procurement.
“We continue manufacturing in Luxembourg and supplying Artec Leo globally. As part of strengthening our position in China and following our strategic partnership with Lenovo New Vision, we have launched local production dedicated to the Chinese market,” said Art Yukhin, President & CEO of Artec 3D. “The ‘Made in China’ Leo expands our presence in China and reinforces our role as a key partner in the region.”
Built to meet growing demand
Home to rapidly developing manufacturing, construction, energy, and heritage preservation industries, China is becoming a key market for 3D scanning. Though cross-border logistics and product compliance requirements can affect product availability, making Artec Leo in China and aligning it with local standards should improve access for new users across the country.

Domestic manufacturing simplifies supply chains, shortens delivery times, and reduces costs, yielding savings that will be passed directly on to customers. By reducing shipping complexity and introducing consistent regional pricing, Artec 3D can provide a smoother purchasing and fulfillment experience.
Expanding further in China
Renowned for its speed, accuracy, and versatility, Artec Leo is used everywhere from industrial reverse engineering and inspection to CGI/VFX, education, medical, and more. The “Made in China” Artec Leo retains the same quality as its predecessor, only undergoing assembly elsewhere.
The “Made in China” Artec Leo significantly accelerates Artec 3D’s Chinese activities. For more than five years, the company has marketed industry-leading 3D scanners via its sales office in Shanghai. This growing area of Artec’s business has seen cutting-edge 3D scanning applied in the digitization of objects ranging from automotive parts to forensic clues and historic treasures.

Over time, Artec 3D has taken steps to strengthen these ties, most recently partnering with Lenovo NV. Moving forward, Artec aims to leverage its partner’s huge production and computing capacity to grow its presence and better penetrate the Chinese market.
Altogether, these closer regional partnerships are positioning Artec 3D for stronger growth, greater competitiveness, and long-term success in the market. Improved recognition in China is expected to boost customer confidence, improving the potential of products for local business, government, and other national-level projects, where Artec Leo can really make a difference.
