    Grey armchair

As a larger object, it might be easy to think that an armchair would take longer to scan. But here’s the thing: a consistent yet unique pattern made for steady and reliable texture tracking — especially on the back of the chair, which was as flat as it was repetitive. This meant that the entire armchair, including its bottom, was scanned by Artec Eva in under 10 minutes.

Turning the chair over changed the shape of parts of its back and armrests slightly, so scanning of those softer areas was done with the chair upright. Processing took another 40 minutes, and we were done with the model you see here in less than an hour.
