1. Scanning
Scanning is easy. The application’s special features allow users to adjust all the required parameters in order to produce the best possible scans. The information is presented in such a way as to ensure that the scanned part of the object is displayed from the best possible angle, and to given an idea of parts scanned earlier.
Produce as many scans as you want — you will always be able to merge them into a single model later. Scanning may be interrupted at any point, so that the object being scanned can be repositioned and a new scan initiated.
Connect several scanners into bundles so that objects can be scanned from several angles at the same time.

2. Merging scans
Align all your earlier scans into a single coordinate system. An automatic align tool enables users to do this quickly: you can indicate identical points or manually rotate one of the scans into an essentially correct position. Everything else happens automatically.
After aligning the scans, you can move your object to the origin of the coordinates by indicating three points on XOY plane.

3. Constructing 3D models
A triangular grid algorithm developed specifically for large models will handle very complex models and harness your computer’s resources as efficiently as possible.

4. Processing models
The large number of tools available to the user enables him or her to see the model through to the desired outcome. Smoothen surfaces, rectify defects, edit the model, fill holes and optimize the grid.

5. Texturing1
An algorithm optimized specifically for the graphic card, enables users to generate high-quality textures at high speed. Now you can instantly export your scans in 3D packets and preserve all color data.

The large number of widely used 3D formats enables users to work directly with a range of applications, such as 3D Max, Maya, Geomagic, Rapidform, Blender, Z Brush and many others. The list of supported formats includes stl, ply, wrl, obj, asc and aop.

Artec studio comes in a variety of languages which makes using the scanner even simpler. Currently there are more than half a dozen interface languages available (English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Russian).
