What: Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology
Where: International Convention Center, Birmingham
When: November 12-15, 2025

The 85th Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology will welcome more than 1,200 scientists, students, artists, writers, and scholars from all around the globe for three exciting days of networking and exchanging fieldwork research best practices. The event’s program includes symposiums, technical sessions, and exhibit showcases, promoting innovative approaches to digital documentation and conservation.

Our UK Ambassador, Central Scanning, will be on site showcasing Artec 3D scanning solutions, including Artec Spider II, Artec Leo, and Artec Point. In addition to live demonstrations, the team will be happy to share 3D technology use cases and show how Artec scanning supports breakthrough research across world-famous excavation sites and universities. Examples include capturing hominid remains, tracing the evolutionary path of extinct species, creating virtual and 3D-printed exhibits for museums, and more.

Each scanner up on display serves specific needs: Spider II captures ultra-fine surface detail, ideal for small fossils and delicate bone fragments; Artec Leo offers untethered scanning directly in the field; and Artec Point supports 3D data capture workflows with ultra-high accuracy. Scans from all these devices can be processed in Artec Studio for precise reconstruction, conservation, and analysis.

If paleontology is your area of interest, register for the event here. Maximize the opportunity to explore the revolutionary 3D technology and connect with peers.
