Autodesk, a leading developer of 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, is organizing a conference for users of its Forge Platform, an expanding collection of cloud services, APIs and SDKs for quickly creating the data and apps that power the future of making things.
Forge DevCon is held to inspire and equip developers, leaders, and investors to change the way things are designed, made and used. Attendees will get hands-on with the tools to create new offerings, solutions and integrations for a cloud-connected product-development ecosystem.
Artec 3D will be among the 40+ privileged exhibitors presenting their products and services at the Forge DevCon show floor. The Artec team will offer everyone to make a free 3D portrait in Shapify Booth, an instant full-body 3D scanning machine. Scanning takes a short 12 seconds, and a few minutes later a detailed full-color 3D portrait is ready for checking out on a computer screen thanks to Artec’s powerful automated post-processing algorithms. A preview of the 3D model can be shared on Facebook, and the 3D model file can be sent to a 3D printer, where it will be turned into a mini-me figurine. Artec will take care of printing out and delivering figurines. Prices start at $169 for S size (6"/15cm). M (7.5"/19cm) and L (9"/23cm) size figurines cost $219 and $299 respectively. Delivery is $35. 3D models can be downloaded from the Shapify website for $40.
Along with full-body scanning, the team will show how you can 3D digitize just about any object around you using Artec Eva and Space Spider 3D scanners. These handhelds capture the most complex geometry and texture with metrological precision, and the latest version of the professional Artec Studio scanning and processing software allows you to build and edit your 3D model the quick, easy and error-free way. The 3D model can be exported into the most popular reverse engineering and 3D modeling programs, such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Geomagic Design X and SOLIDWORKS. Due to their reliability and efficiency, Artec 3D scanning solutions are used in a great deal of industries, including aerospace, automotive design, CGI, heritage preservation, medicine and many more.
