Universal screwdriver
Ordinarily, digitizing something shiny, narrow, and intricate like this universal screwdriver would be a pain. But Artec Studio made the process as simple as taking photos with a smartphone.
After capturing these images from various heights and angles, data was fed into Artec Studio, where automatic masking helped remove background noise. The software’s advanced neural network then turned this data into a high-quality, accurate 3D model in minutes.
Not only did Artec Studio’s mesh editing tools help apply polish to the final model, they allowed for photo-texturing – where texture is applied from photographs for an ultra-realistic appearance.
After these simple steps, we were left with this gloriously detailed, 16K texture digital twin of a chrome-plated screwdriver. The model can even be reconstructed using Artec Studio’s scale bars, making it more than just a pretty face – it can be reproduced to exact specifications.
