Leather is a tricky material to replicate in a digital model: it’s neither fully matte nor glossy, its surface shifts subtly with every crease and scuff, and years of wear only add more variation for photo-based reconstruction to sort through. The brogue perforations, creased vamp, and patchy discoloration on this shoe make it a perfect example of a surface that’s easy to oversimplify, but AI Photogrammetry handled this challenge with ease.

Working from photographs alone, it captured every scuff mark, stitched seam, and worn patch of leather without smoothing away the character that makes this shoe look genuinely lived-in. Even the tiny perforated dots along the wingtip came through well-defined.
