Artec scans fully body-painted model

In military combat scenarios, it is usual for soldiers to paint their faces in natural colors for camouflage reasons. The fully body-painted model at the Forma Tool fair in Slovenia, certainly wasn’t looking to hide herself. Being captured with an Artec MHT, she was the centre of attention.

Everybody in Russia interested in computer technologies has heard about the CG Event – the year’s greatest techie gathering in Moscow. Artec simply couldn’t miss the chance to showcase its 3D scanning technologies at this essential Computer Graphics happening. The annual event is a demonstration platform for developments in computer graphics and animation that have emerged in the past year.

Two is sometimes better than one

With the first snow starting to fall, it’s best to cuddle up in front of a fireplace. Recently, Artec employees found themselves in front of one but instead of cuddling, they scanned it. The idea was to replicate the masterpiece so that more people could warm up in front of beautiful fireplaces. Playing on the strength of Artec MH and S scanners, they produced an exact 3D model of the ornamented fireplace.

There are quite a few Japanophiles among Artec employees. We love watching the cherry trees blossom along the Okawa river in Osaka and riding the shinkansen (bullet train) at 250km/hr just for the excitement of the journey itself. We respect Japanese history and admire the speed of Japanese technological innovation.
